Elections for the District Board:
During the Conference, we will elect our District Board for the 2018-2019 Key Club year. Lieutenant Governors will be elected at Divisional Caucuses prior to the Conference, and any vacant positions will be filled with Divisional Caucus held on Friday evening, April 6, at the Conference. The positions of District Governor, District Secretary, District Treasurer, and District Bulletin Editor will be elected during the Conference. Candidates will campaign throughout the weekend, and the vote will be held at the House of Delegates.
More information about running for a District Board Position will be available in November.
All dues-paid Key Clubs in attendance are entitled to have two (2) voting delegates to represent them, along with two (2) alternates.
Contests and Scholarships:
Each year, we recognize the outstanding talent and work of our Key Clubs and individual Key Clubbers. Every Key Club should file an Annual Achievement Report, which will put that Key Club in the running for the Annual Achievement Award and Distinguished Club Status.
In addition, Key Clubs are recognized for their best single service project, their participation in the Key Club International Major Emphasis, their contribution to the District Projects, and their membership growth. Key Clubs may also submit one entry each in the Year in Review (Scrapbook) contests, the poster contests, the talent contest, the oratorical contest, and the essay contest. Key Clubs may also nominate a Key Clubber or advisor for Outstanding Key Club President, Outstanding Key Club Officer, Outstanding Key Club Advisor, the George R. Whitney Leader of Leaders Award, and the Sandy Nininger Award.
We will also award college scholarships to graduating seniors nominated by their Key Clubs. A Key Club may nominate one or more graduating senior.
Finally, we will award the Katie Vashon International Convention Scholarship, offsetting the registration cost to attend the Key Club International Convention this July.
