Katie Vashon ICON Scholarship

Contest Description

This scholarship was created in memory of Katie Vashon, 2001-02 Governor and 2000-01 Division 3 Lieutenant Governor of the New England District of Key Club International. Katie grew up in Hermon, ME and attended Quinnipiac University in Hamden, CT. In each of her communities, through various leadership and service activities, Katie was selfless in her devotion to others. Katie believed in the mission and works of Key Club International, and she was passionate about the organization and her connection with the Kiwanis Family. Katie attended many international conventions and found them to be valuable opportunities to develop leadership skills and to build community with fellow Key Club members. Additionally, Katie interned with Key Club International for the 2005 Convention in Atlanta, GA.

The Katie Vashon International Convention Scholarship will be awarded annually to a New England and Bermuda District Key Club member who has demonstrated outstanding leadership ability and service to others.

Starting in 2024, this award is funded by the Kiwanis Foundation of New England. Up to two awards will be given out.

Key Club International Convention will take place July 9-14, 2024 in Atlanta, GA.
